Salt Pipe Inhaler
I call this my wizard pipe!! At the first sign of any immune response (a throat tickle etc.), I pop a couple of drops of essential oils (I use oils such as tea tree, rosemary, oregano, eucalyptus or frankincense) into my salt pipe inhaler and use it for 15 minutes a few times a day. In my experience, it helps immensely to aid my immune system and symptoms either can’t take hold or, if I don’t get to this soon enough, any symptoms disappear fast.
“Living Libations Salt Inhaler is a positively purifying device that cleanses and fortifies the breath and airways. It is a super-simple way to add some verve to your vents and some verdancy to your vibe.
Salt inhalers, also known as salt pipes, have been featured on the Dr. Oz show and named one of Alternative Wellbeing's 2010 Best New Products.”
After Sun
I learned from reading Renegade Beauty that interacting with the sun “safely” is possible and necessary for wellness (Chapter 7 - Let the Sun Shine In).
This is a beautiful mix of sun-harmonizing botanicals that drench your skin. We use it as a daily body and face wash in the summer and it’s also great as an after-sun tonic.
“The action of sunshine in the outdoors on the body is of such a nature that sun-baths have a triple significance - as healing agent in the cure of disease, as a preventative to disease by building up body resistance, and as a sheer pleasure-giving tonic which increases the feeling of well-being” -Edgar Mayer, MD
Organic Zinc Sulfate
We take zinc daily as it is a critical part of reducing our viral load and keeping us well.
“Responsible for all of the over 2000 chemical functions of the liver, including the creation of your liver in the womb and the development of your liver as you grew and reached adulthood. The liver stores an abundance of zinc because it knows people are zinc deficient, in part due to the lack of it in the food we eat. Without zinc, you liver can’t perform its functions that protect your whole body, so despite its zinc storage, you liver always needs more, because the zinc output needed to respond to the mental and physical demands upon us is high.
The onslaught of viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens in particular drains our zinc reserves. One specific purpose of zinc reserves is to eliminate toxic forms of copper that are always high inside the liver and that can cause the organ harm. If someone is so zinc deficient that even the liver’s zinc reserves have dropped to a dangerous level, that person can develop a host of viral-related autoimmune diseases.”

Neti Pot
Another staple in our Dwellness tool kit. I think I actually may love my neti pot! Let’s just say, we have been through thick and thin together! [groan :)]
When I pour the salt into the pot, I also add 1-2 drops of tea tree oil and/or rosemary oil before adding the warm water. I shared this trick with my sister and she said it was a game-changer.
I use it regularly to keep my sinuses clear. I’ve only ever had one sinus infection while traveling in a remote country. Thankfully, I had my neti pot and essential oils on hand to relieve my symptoms while I recovered without any need for medication.
Propolis Throat Spray
Coat your throat and arm your body's first line of defense - a great addition to the immune-boosting tool kit.
There is a version for children too that we have used for our son. We have found it offers great relief from a scratchy, dry throat and facilitates fast healing without the need for medicine.
